The person who clocked in on The Forbes ‘30 under 30 Asia’ list for driving innovation in digital payment in Myanmar takes a break at a coffee shop in Yangon while scanning books on his frequently-visited ShweNote application – one of his clients. In some ways, it is a typical setting for Htet Arkar Kyaw, founder of Dinger, whose digital payment gateway service has outpaced the broader payment system for small and medium businesses. While the country’s online and offline small and medium businesses are deluged with a fair variety of card and wallet payments in the market, Dinger is providing a solution to boost the businesses’ functionalities by taking care of their digital payment and financial pain points. With Dinger currently focusing on SMEs largely operating online in sectors like education, hotel and tourism and e-commerce, its attention could shift next to retailers like the coffee shop that Kyaw is currently sitting in.
