We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the four women entrepreneurs from Myanmar who have completed the trial Women Mentoring Programme of MPE&VCA: Chit Shwe Syn, founder of Burmite Amber, Khaing Soe Thu, founder of Moe Kaung Kin, Thida Win, founder of Plan Bee, and Yee Yee Mon, founder of Venus Local Home.
These women entrepreneurs each took part in three valuable mentoring sessions in an overall programme that stretched across a period of two months. They received guidance and support from three experienced professionals in fields including venture investment and advisory.
Out of the overwhelming number of women entrepreneurs who were interested to take part in the mentoring programme, our mentors used their best judgement in choosing the entrepreneurs whom they think could benefit the most considering the nature of business and the needs of the entrepreneurs.
As a component of MPE&VCA’s gender lens investing support, the goal of the programme is to help solve challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. With a more ambitious plan in sight, the support feeds into the vision of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), WE Rise Community Asia and MPE&VCA, the organisations that made this programme happen: to accelerate the support of gender-smart initiatives and Gender Lens Investing in Southeast Asia.
The three mentors from MPE&VCA’s network—Ms. Gill Pattison, Principal of Andaman Capital Partners; Mr. Saurabh Singhavi, Director and COO of ALSiSAR Impact, and Ms. Su Sandar Zaw, Consultant and former Finance Director Anthem Asia—considered their volunteer assistance to aid these female entrepreneurs as an important undertaking aimed at giving back to the community. Thank you to our mentors for their steadfast support!
