More white collar jobs in the market whilst developments shape the employment landscape


An environment with a rich pool of skilled professionals in town and competitive salary packages has been fading in Myanmar since the economic deceleration in 2020 when Covid-19 took effect. Yet, 2023 is presenting an increase in job openings — a majority from local businesses — according to professionals in the employment sector.

Job recruitment has soared this year despite — or perhaps because of — less business competition in the country. This follows from many foreign corporations moving out, more qualified professionals leaving for better-promising job opportunities abroad, and the emergence of new local businesses.
