Only Full Members are entitled to voting rights. No voting right for Associate members as they are not in the business of investing in private companies in Myanmar on a day-to-day basis as investment professionals. In terms of entitlement to the board seats, there is no express limitation on the number of board seats that can be represented by Full Members or Associate Members except for Direct Investors / Pioneer Investors, who are limited to one board seat representation.

General Partners
General Partners that fall under the Associate Membership are not entitled to voting rights as they are not in the business of investing in
private companies in Myanmar on a day-to-day basis as investment professionals.
Private equity and venture capital firms with Myanmar inclusive mandate and/or track- record of investment(s) in Myanmar. Indication of track-record will include past successful fundraising and deployment of capital into Myanmar companies.
Corporations or corporations’ investment entities engaging in equity investments into privately-held businesses in Myanmar on a day-to-day basis.
Institutions that specifically seek to generate social or environmental or development focused returns in addition to financial returns, and report on the impact of the investment for its investors.
Private equity and venture capital firms that do not fall under the Myanmar-inclusive PE/VC firms (i.e. no or minimal engagement with investing in Myanmar).
Corporations and institutions that do, or are looking to do, direct equity or quasi-equity investments in private companies (not into funds nor public companies) from time to time (but not on a day-to-day basis).
Fund managers of private debt funds which provide debt to privately held companies with either an office or investment(s) in Myanmar. Direct lending funds and venture debt funds represent Alternative Lenders.
Start-up Accelerator investors are fixed-term, cohort-based programs, that make equity investments whilst providing mentorship and educational components – in Myanmar.

Although not members, investee companies of MPEVCA members under the General Partner Membership can access membership benefits throughout the period of their investment.

Limited Partners / Grant Providers
Limited Partners invest in private equity and venture capital funds.
Grant Providers provide funding and support to promote the private sector.
Institutions such as development financial institutions, pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and foundations that invest in private equity and venture capital funds. Bilateral and multilateral development finance institutions that invest through equity or long-term loans to support the private sector or finance projects in support of the private sector.
Institutions that are majority-owned by governments, Independent institutions and private foundations that aim to support the private sector.
Third-party fund managers are defined as fund-of-funds, secondaries funds and discretionary and non-discretionary fund managers.

Professional Services and Financial Institution members include law firms, banks, corporate finance firms, accountancy and auditing firms, consulting and
advisory firms, executive search firms, insurance firms, placement agents, publishing and communications firms, software providers
and third party fund administrators servicing the private equity and venture capital industry.

An individual expressing interest in the private equity and venture capital industry or investing in private businesses in Myanmar.
Individuals who are employed by a company or organisation but do not serve as representatives of any particular company and individuals interested in exploring MPE&VCA membership but with intentions to move to a more relevant membership category tailored for institutions are suitable candidates for the Individual membership category.
