Structuring Businesses and Investments with a Gender Lens

Raising capital or making investments simply to generate a profit and investment returns for shareholders may not be considered a smart and responsible move. By incorporating a gender lens, entrepreneurs or investors could experience positive returns for themselves and instigate impact in their communities.

Businesses can gain a whole different level of productivity if their products and services also serve the needs of women and girls, or if the distribution line is led by a woman, or if policies are enforced equally throughout the workforce.

To investors, keeping your investment team gender-balanced will allow the team to achieve 20 percent higher performance than that of male or female-dominated teams, a study shows.

In addition, investors who respect the importance of the gender lens investment concept are increasingly applying the concept to their investment analysis and decision-making. Businesses need to take proactive steps to prepare strategically for the future.

This session you will learn about:
● Overview of Gender Lens Investing (GLI)
● Structuring GLI strategies for businesses
● Structuring GLI strategies for the investment team
● Understanding the Investor-investee dynamics in relation to GLI
● Tools to promote gender equality
● Case study
