Prospects for Myanmar’s Economy: What the Future Holds and How Myanmar Could Grow

Myanmar has experienced numerous bouts of economic turbulence following the country’s brutal political and social changes that have taken place domestically. With the country just completing an election a few days back, its implications still remain unclear, and the question about how the economy will unfold remains. What changes would a civil war-ridden country have to make if it were to aim for a dramatic economic and social improvement? How can policy and structural reforms be carried out at a time when some of the main challenges to these reforms are primarily political in nature?

Join us for a discussion where you will get to observe and discuss the Myanmar economic outlook, key strategic policy changes and priorities that are needed to rekindle economic growth.
