MPE&VCA had the pleasure of co-hosting an engaging“Scale through SCALE” workshop with The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) and 3ZERO House Myanmar.

It was fantastic to connect with nearly 30 attendees who are business service providers and entrepreneurs passionate about growth and development.

The participants explored the concept of SCALE, useful for organisations working on enterprise development in helping to grow small and growing businesses:
S — Selecting the right enterprise
C — Charging enterprises improve performance
A — Addressing problems: learning best by solving problems
L — Learning by evaluating enterprise performance
E — Leading by Example: improving your own organisation to better serve enterprises.

A panel session allowed the attendees to explore how the business development service providers in the country are performing their service, which are applicable to the concept of SCALE.

During the interactive group discussions, participants explored the key concepts, shared insights, and left with actionable ideas

Business development service providers can assess their work and performance by analysing the guiding questions relating to the SCALE concept, which can be referenced as a diagnostic tool.

The following questions can be used as a guide to conduct an assessment. For BDS providers, this can be a reflection exercise among their team members. Funders can have a conversation with business development service providers and the guiding questions can be of help.
